Track II: ERIC-Established (ERIC-E)
Track II: ERIC Established (ERIC-E) involves 5 or more faculty members with research responsibilities

- AT LEAST 2 full-time with a primary appointment in INFO
- AT LEAST 1 an INFO affiliate faculty member or non-INFO faculty.
After completing the Incubator Track, a group can apply to launch an ERIC-E. Operating an ERIC-E requires that the group engage in (and document the success of) a set of activities, including self-governance, group meetings and collaborative activities, collaborative projects, public events, and external communication. These can include, but are not limited to, the examples in each category that are shown below.
- Self-governance
- Leadership positions filled
- Regular steering committee meetings held for planning and progress updates
- Funds allocated for coordination and collaborative activities
- Progress and performance assessed
- Regular group meetings and collaborative activities (plan to report dates, attendance, leadership and participation, accomplishments)
- 3+ Collaborative projects (plan to report activities, leadership and participation, progress)
- Synthesizing scholarly literature
- Identifying research opportunities and building a research agenda
- Developing collaborative funding proposals
- Planning and writing collaborative research papers, journal special issues, or book prospectuses
- 4+ Public events/year (plan to report titles, dates, attendance, leadership and participation, accomplishments)
- Formal presentation of research papers, scholarship, or demos
- Topical workshops and seminars
- Planning/research agenda-setting workshops
- Podcasts and panels
- Up-to-date web presence/mailing list/social media
The College will provide the following for:
- Direct costs of carrying out the proposed activities (up to $5k/year)
- Administrative support for carrying out the proposed activities (up to 5 hrs/week)
- IT infrastructure for collaboration, web, and social media presence
This support complements the general business and research support provided by the College for all full-time faculty. ERIC funds may not support the costs of performing research, nor be used for a mini-grant awarding program.
