“Beyond These Walls” Student Travel Awards
Established in 2012, the “Beyond These Walls” Student Travel Award provides financial support to allow Master’s students from any program at the College of Information Studies to attend local and national conferences, present research, and gain experience and exposure from professionals in our field. If applying in the Fall, travel must be completed by mid-March of the following year. If you would like to apply in relation to a trip that will take place after this date, please apply for the Spring “Beyond These Walls” Student Travel Awards, which will come out early in the Spring semester. Funding is limited to $500 per trip. Two applicants will be awarded in each application cycle.
Application deadline dates are September 15th, January 15th, and April 15th of every year.
Eligibility of Applicants
- Students currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree program at the College of Information Studies
Funding
- Two awards of up to $500 will be made in each funding cycle
Process
- Applications will be accepted on January 15th, April 15th, and September 15th of every year
- Applicants will be notified within six weeks of application submission
Award Winners
- Recipients must spend funds and complete projects before leaving the University
- All funds are to be spent and work completed within 2 years of the date of notification
- Recipients are required to provide a Travel Final Report at the end of their projects
- Final Reports will be posted on the iSchool Research Library
