Create an IRBNet account + Linking CITI Training

If you do not already have an account, follow the instructions below:

  1. Go to irbnet.org
  2. Complete the User Profile using your @umd.edu email address.
  3. Accept the terms of IRBNet.org.
  4. Select “University of Maryland-College Park” for the location.
  5. Create your password.
  6. Go to your email.
  7. You will have received an email from IRBNet. Please note that this may take up to an hour to be delivered.
  8. Click the link in the email to activate your account in IRBNet.

Please note that your IRBNet account is not linked to your UMD ID.

Add your completed CITI Training to your IRBNet User Profile

  1. Log into IRBNet.
  2. Click User Profile in the upper, right corner of the screen.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Add New Training & Credentials Record under the Training and Credentials section.
  4. Follow the prompts to attach the PDF version of your completed CITI Training.

NOTE: You do not need to “submit” your training to a Board in order to upload your Completion Report to your profile or to link your report to an IRBNet submission. Additionally, the training will continue to appear as “Not Submitted,” even after the training has been added to the User Profile and linked to a project.
