Interest Groups

A successful interest group will have:

Regular group meetings and other collaborative activities - Goal 1
  • The activities which serve to foster community which may include:
    • Paper development workshops
    • Practice talks 
    • Work-in-progress presentations and discussions
3+ Collaborative Projects - Goal 2
  • Three or more Collaborative projects
  • These activities might include:
    • Developing collaborative funding proposals 
    • Co-authoring research papers
    • Joint development of graduate or undergraduate courses
4+ Public Events / year - Goal 3
  • Four or more public events
  • These events might include: 
    • Formal presentation of research and scholarship
    • Topical workshops and seminars
    • Planning / agenda setting workshops
An up-to-date web presence - Goal 1 and 3
  • An up-to-date web presence that may include:
    • Mailing lists
    • Web page
    • Social Media
