Masters of Information Management Committee

2017-2018 Committee Membership and Charge

The Masters of Information Management (MIM) committee is responsible for overseeing maintenance, development, and support of the Masters of Information Management program.  This includes, but is not limited to, reviewing and approving any substantive change to curriculum and making recommendations to PCC regarding policies (new or changing) that affect the MIM program.  The Committee also sets admissions criteria, oversees the admissions process, reviews and approves/denies MIM student petitions, recommends appropriate actions for students having academic difficulty, works with the Awards Committee to identify MIM candidates for recognition, and provides general guidance to the MIM program director to ensure that the MIM program is developing in a fashion that is consistent with the goals of the College as whole.

MIM Initiatives 2017-2018

  1. Program Branding
    1. Increase MIM program attractiveness in the information management industry, driving the companies to:
      1. Hire MIM students (who our MIM students are? What they can do and what they can be? Why they are competitive?
      2. Partner with the MIM program (who we are? How our partners can benefit working with us?)
  2. MIM Program Learning Outcomes for students
    1. Define skills/knowledge MIM students have to know/have prior to graduating
  3. MIM membership in the local chapters of Information Management groups/associations (e.g. Society for Information Management DC Chapter)
